A name stamped in red wax
Waxies is built on the site of Sligo’s 19th-century trade district: Rockwood Parade, between O’Connell Street and the Garavogue River. In the 1800s, this area was filled with warehouses, shipping agents, grain stores, and legal offices — the machinery of portside commerce.
